As Senior Vice President and Director of Operations & Risk Management, Melanie oversees operations, technology and compliance. In 2003, she was one of five founding members of Legacy Trust and was responsible for establishing the corporate structure, setting up systems, operation workflows, human resources and benefits. Melanie’s role with the firm has evolved over time. She has been key to providing leadership in the development of not only the company’s operations but compliance and technology and has effectively led the team to deliver exceptional operations utilizing “best in class” technology all while adhering to strict regulatory requirements. Melanie began her career at Old Kent Bank, later Fifth Third Bank, where she landed in Trust Operations and realized this was truly her passion. The detailed, client focused, technical nature of operations lined up with Melanie’s personality. She held several positions throughout her career at Fifth Third, with Assistant Vice President and Trust Securities Manager being the most recent.
