Laina Mills, Chief Investment Officer at Legacy Trust, has been appointed to the Investment Review Committee for the Grand Rapids Community Foundation.

The Grand Rapids Community Foundation was founded in 1922. It is a nonprofit organization that connects people, passion and resources—building and managing Kent County’s permanent endowment and helping philanthropists accomplish their unique goals. The Community Foundation provides grants to nonprofits, scholarships to students and other supports to eliminate barriers to opportunity, prosperity and belonging.

“The strategic and extremely empowering work performed by the Community Foundation is vital to the strength and equity of our region,” said Laina Mills. “I’m honored to bring my financial and community engagement experience to the Investment Review Committee. I look forward to working with my committee colleagues and the organization’s leadership to continually improve our community.”

Legacy Trust is the largest private trust bank headquartered in Grand Rapids.  Mills has served as Chief Investment Officer since 2017. Her community service work includes serving as Vice Chair of the Downtown Market’s Board of Directors, Secretary for the Opera Grand Rapids Board of Trustees, and as a member of the Grand Rapids Symphony Foundation, the St. Cecilia Music Society’s Investment Committee and the Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park Board of Directors.
