On March 10, 2020, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced that two confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have been identified in Oakland and Wayne counties. As the virus continues to spread in Michigan and throughout the nation, I want to take a moment to let you know what Legacy Trust is doing to respond to this public health issue.

First and foremost, our number one priority is the safety and well-being of our staff, clients, families, and the communities in which we live and work.

We are closely monitoring health information and recommendations from our local and state health departments, the State Emergency Operations Center, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the World Health Organization. We are also implementing specific safeguards to ensure the health and well-being of our staff and any individuals we may encounter in the course of our normal business day. And, we will continue to develop, update and share guidance with our staff so they are fully informed on how to protect themselves, their families and their clients against this emerging health matter.

From an investment perspective, the financial impacts of COVID-19 have raised questions and concerns from you, our clients, business partners and shareholders. As you look to us for guidance and service please know that we remain vigilant in our professional actions so that we can continue to deliver the highest level of quality service and timeliness to those seeking our assistance.

Should it become necessary to curtail business office operations as a result of public health concerns, please know that we have the technological, cultural and operational infrastructure in place to allow our staff to work remotely, allowing them to meet your needs.

We do not share your information with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not sell your information.

Important Information About Procedures For Opening A New Account

To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify and record information that identifies each person who opens an account.

What this means for you: When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see your driver’s license or other identifying documents.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause; however, federal law prohibits us from waiving these requirements.
