Louis Benton is a traditional steakhouse located in the heart of Grand Rapids that happens to serve up some delicious burgers in the attached lounge (LB’s Lounge). Louis Benton has been a premier steakhouse in Grand Rapids for the better part of a decade and has made sure to keep the feel of old Chicago in its atmosphere every step of the way. Louis Benton is one of the only blues venues in Grand Rapids and is reminiscent of the great clubs of the Windy City. The LB’s Lounge is attached to the Louis Benton restaurant and provides customers with a more casual dining environment while keeping the feel of old Chicago and live entertainment at the forefront of the dining experience.
LB’s Lounge is open every day except Sunday & Monday and has a fantastic menu if you are looking for an upscale meal that won’t break the bank. The burger selection at the lounge is fantastic, ranging from a Roaring 40’s burger consisting of bacon, bleu cheese, and a Newcastle bleu cheese dressing to the Benton Bayou burger consisting of a Cajun seasoned burger topped with pepper jack cheese, haystack onions, and Cajun aioli. The burger I sampled was the Black & Blue burger which was a traditional bleu cheese burger with a few thick slices of apple wood smoked bacon on top. The burger was made up of two full patties and was served with homemade chips. Overall, the meal was very good, and I am looking forward to going back to try one of the many other unique burgers LB’s Lounge has to offer.
